Fall Fashion Swap

Saturday I held my second clothing swap with a handful of friends. Everyone brought at least five fall/winter items, either clothes or accessories which were then hung up and put on display. Each of us had 5 tags to label our favorite pieces. If there was more than one tag on an item we stuck the names in a hat and pulled for the person who "won" the item.

Serena brought some Jamberry samples with her and showed everyone how to apply them to their nails. The accent nail of choice was definitely the ring finger. Seeing all the different designs on a nail and not just on the sheet made a difference. I ordered this black floral Sweet Nothing Nail Wrap. It looks perfect for fall and I can't wait to get them in! There are so many different Jamberry prints available, Jamberry even has a Pumpkin Spice Nail Wrap- hah!

We tried to keep all the food in theme with fall. Baked brie and apples, sangria, red pepper cheese dip, and pumpkin spice chai cookies filled the table.

In the first swap this past spring we were accompanied by Serena's adorable son Milo, this time new mommy Lauren brought little Melody for our girls day. She was a happy little lady and not phased at all by the dogs.

I have a Jamberry party open if you want to join. Serena says they can last up to two weeks, I have a set on now and I'll update you with the outcome soon. If my new set comes in before that I may be changing them sooner though. ;)

Have you been part of a clothing swap before? Would you hold one yourself?

Fall Favorites

When I was younger summer was my favorite time of year. No school, weekend trips to the beach, sun tans, summer reads, all around nothing to worry about other then to reapply my SPF 4 oil. (No, I am not using SPF 4 anymore, I use 30 at all times and no longer spend endless hours baking at the beach.)

This year I'm loving apple and pumpkin flavored everything, cinnamon brooms, boots (booties this year), new scarves, cute sweaters, adorable cape jackets, and the sudden urge to rock a hat. It's a little too warm for half of the items in that list in Florida still, but hey a girl can dream!

Last year I didn't get my Halloween decorations up until October 31st, so this year I already have everything up. The only thing I can't seem to find is this adorable white chevron pumpkin I made last year.

What are you loving about fall this year? Are your decorations up yet?

P.S. For anyone attending the sold out Nordstrom Grand Opening Gala in Jacksonville tonight tweet or email me. I"ll be there and I'd love to meet you!
I'll be posting my look on Instagram before the event so be sure you're following @justmeaghan. ;)

Roche Bobois

I recently came across the modern furniture of Roche Bobois and instantly fell in love with the innumerable styling options these couches could take on. The industrial masculinity of their sofas are complimentary to the feminine infusions of color and texture applied by the stylist.

I am obsessed with this colorful wall piece! It does so much for this whole room with the softness of the weaved material and abstract designs. How about the shelving, open windows and and even the ottoman! I would love for this area to be my living room.

Elegance is all this space screams to me. I would not have thought that white would go so well with a creamy shade but this flows perfectly. The yin and yang of the contrasting couch colors is a very strong statement of his and hers.

I love the look of raw wood, so this open, low set up looks like one I'd be happy to have especially in a studio apartment in Asheville, North Carolina. The extra large letters are a cool idea I'd like to utilize too.

Man cave much? The rough iron steps and raw brick in this space meld nicely with the arm rests on this sofa.

What do you think of Phillipe Bouix's designs? Would you style them differently in your home?
