Beach Market Inspired Set

I went down to the Market at the Pier this morning and picked up some fresh veggies and a sweet new leash for my big dog. It's made from a marine rope; the leash part is teal, tan and black with a gold clip, and it has this soft handle that's all bright neon colors- like the wind breakers Mom put me in when I was little. Nostalgic..
There was a lady there selling a different variety of succulents, they are such beautiful, calming plants.  One cool thing I didn't know was that the leaves spawn off baby succulents pretty easily.  If there's a broken "leaf" just place it on top of some good soil and it will start to sprout.  I have some I picked up about a year ago that are in a strawberry pot on the front porch, I'll definitely be trying to grow some more now that I know this little fact.

Here's my Polyvore, Market/Succulent inspired set.  I always feel a little more light and happy after these trips, hence the yellow. I love carrying a wristlet when I go-easier to maneuver, and a reusable grocery bag is a must!

Coco before Chanel & My OOTD

I am very much in a French mood again this morning.  I finished up reading The Sweet Life in Paris earlier this week (so I need a recommendation on a new book to read), and last night watched Coco before Chanel.  I remember now why I took French in school, the language is so sensual. I highly recommend all of you to watch this movie, but be prepared it is all in French so you will be reading subtitles (mind you the few sentences Boy projects in English).  The fashions presented are timeless, mainly those in her runway show towards the end of the film. My favorite ensemble was the striped shirt she wore after her first trip to la mer, in fact I have a blue and white striped shirt on today I was so inspired by its simplicity.

So here's my look a tad more Americanized you could say.

Hooded Jacket- Roxy (from 2009)
Blue & White Striped Shirt- Gap
Dark Denim Jeans- Target
Combat Boots- Steve Madden
Horn & Gold Watch- Michael Kors
Rope & Chain Bracelet- Forever 21

I am figuring out how to use the Nikon, aren't you proud?! :)

New Years Eve Outfit

NYE in Downtown Saint Augustine..
(Not my Photo!)This is our town around the holidays.  The city calls it Nights of Lights;
Saint Augustine actually was listed as one of the top 10 places to see
holiday lights in by National Geographic!
I went for a more subdued New Years Eve look, black is always good and it's the main color in my closet. It also allowed me to rock my Michael Kors watch I got for Christmas from my man.

Top-Target
Pocketed pencil skirt- Forever 21
Belt-Target
Watch- Michael Kors
Green bracelet- Simmons Jewelry
Wedge booties- Target
Lipstick- (fave color right now) Revlon's Persian Melon

I have to say those noisemakers are really crappy, I broke 2 of them that night.  They weren't loud enough!!

Me, Birthday Girl-Lindsey & my man
(Lindsey's wearing a gorgeous Marc Jacobs dress)

Cheers to 2012!

Little bit of Gold Love

There's so many holiday parties going on right now, and I have seen a lot of blogs focusing on red looks. What about gold? A little bit more interchangeable between Christmas and New Years.

Dream Look #1

Okay everyone, I am very new to Polyvore so bare with me as I get the hang of it. Here's my first look created using their site. I love the camel, mixed in with the navy grey and a hint of black and gold. I was feeling very winter-spirited and of course had to throw in some boots. Any tips for the Polyvore newbie are greatly appreciated. :)
