Our Jamaican Wedding (Part 2)

With my name change official now, it's time to share some wedding pictures. This first set is some of the detail shots.
My flowers were wrapped in orange satin ribbon, then a braided teal rope which I attached 4 photo charms to. The photos were of loved ones who couldn't make it to the wedding; my Mom, StepFather Bob, Grandmother and recently deceased Grandfather. I had a mixture of white orchids and orange birds of paradise, they were beautiful and I was so sad to leave them behind in Jamaica.

I painted our ring box and affixed the starfish to the top. My sister, Stepmother and I searched for coral and stones to fill the box as the sun was rising the day of our wedding while sipping on our fresh Jamaican coffees.

Red Stripe is of course Jamaica's well known beer, I made this sock sleeve for my groom and gave it to him the night before we got married.
My Dad is a handkerchief guy, I found this heartfelt note perfect for the day. Embroidery by Linda, on Etsy, did a great job and was really quick with getting it finished in time for my wedding. As I said before, we planned this wedding in 2 1/2 weeks.
Oh, my shoes (sigh). I saw these bad boys on Pinterest months ago and knew I wanted them for the wedding. Only problem was, all of the white ones were sold out in the U.S. so I had to order them directly from Aspiga in Europe. With a two week shipping time I got lucky and they arrived a day before we left. Phew! They were perfect and my most cherished shoes now.
My beautiful dress. :) When we decided we were upping our wedding by 6 months, my original dress decision was no longer an option with the turn time. So I hunted out this dress from Mignon and was luckily able to find a local vendor who could get the dress for me in just enough time to get it altered a bit.
Thank goodness for some kind of breeze, it was around 90 degrees with no cloud cover during our 11:00 AM wedding on August 24th.

So happy I had my sister there to help me get ready. :) It was so nice to have everyone there that was able to make it. Having my Dad walk me down the aisle was a major element I would not have been happy without.
Galina Breeze was the boutique hotel where we stayed and had our wedding. The staff was friendly, courteous and on top of things. Thank goodness for Althia, my DOC(day of coordinator). With experience as a coordinator myself, I now appreciate the work and stress put on that position even more. Everything came together perfectly with her direction and the rest of the staff's assistance.
The Caribbean sea was the backdrop to our wedding ceremony. The different shades of blue with the rough cliff-side and green mountains were more beautiful than any wedding hall I've ever seen. It was beyond anything my childhood wedding dreams could have ever been.
I disassembled and remade these garters more unique to me by adding in the starfish and sand dollar charm. So pretty, and still in my possession, the one is ready to be flung at our reception next month!
