Date Night: Nights of Lights

After some steamed oysters, shrimp and seared tuna Dee and I decided to go and check out Nights of Lights downtown. Last night was the official illumination when the switch was flipped and all of the lights were turned on. It was also my last night at Romano's, so we didn't make it.
My favorite, and the first that we passed coming into downtown, was the Lightner Museum on the right with Flagler College (my Alma Mater) on the left. The towers all lit up and the outlined windows are just gorgeous. Then driving just a little bit further, and parking we could start to see the draped trees and large Christmas Tree in the It is not a wonder why National Geographic named our town in the Top 10 Places to See Holiday Lights.

While downtown we stopped at Kilwin's on Saint George Street and picked up some fudge. Our initial quest was ice cream in their waffle cones that always smell the street up when we walk by. But once the chill was felt, we changed our minds quickly. I mean look at all this fudge, and the different types of chocolate and caramel covered everythings!!

We decided on Chocolate Peanut Butter and Apple Pie fudge. Both were awesome, but the apple pie was something I had never had before. I could clearly taste the apple and different pie spices. YUM!
After some fudge, we stopped by the Casa Monica for a couple drinks. I had a Chocolate Truffle martini and Dee had his first experience with Tuaca, I don't think he cared for it too much...
I love our little town, there is always something to do, especially when you enjoy desserts and a good drink. ;)

Apple pie fudge sounds heavenly. What a beautiful area to be in, I can see why it was recognized by NG :)
