After having plans to go out for Thanksgiving dinner, we changed our minds. Our friends invited us over to a get together at her house with a bunch of her family, most of which I had met when I coordinated their wedding. This was much more enjoyable then it would have been to go out and eat among total strangers.
So needless to say I did end up cooking, no Turkey for me. I made Acorn Squash stuffed with Quinoa, Wild Rice, Apricots and Cranberries, and a vegetarian gravy. A meal in itself! It was delicious but a couple of the meat eaters gave the expected reaction, of "oh, what is that?" It's not scary just because it's different!
Our time with our friends was enjoyed, then we went home for a lethargic evening of movies. Somehow this led to us going out shopping at 11:00 P.M. for the Black Friday sales at our local outlet mall. We scored a few good things, spending the bulk of our time in J. Crew (40 minute line) and Michael Kors (35 minute line).
After making it home around 2:00 a.m. we passed out, to wake up and head out to the big box stores. Really only to find some cheap movies, and see if there were any deals we absolutely couldn't pass up. We left with the Battle Ship game, Home Alone, and a few other classic movies that were needed in our collection.
Did you find anything good, or did you skip the Black Friday craziness to hold out for Cyber Monday?
Congratulations to Yannick B. for winning the 2 VIP Tickets to the 3rd Annual Girl Next Door Fashion Show this Sunday! Thank you for entering, I hope to see you all there! For those who can't make it check back early next week for a behind the scenes post. I'll also be Tweeting throughout the preparation of the event so be sure to follow @meaghanmae on Twitter.
