politicin'?

I found a new book this week to read on the basics of politics, written by a woman.  It's called What You Should Know About Politics...But Don't by Jessamyn Conrad.  This line below sums up exactly what I am looking to get from it.
It's a non-partisan guide to the main political topics that lets you know what each side thinks about different issues. Once I'm finished maybe I'll be able to pick Republican or Democrat and no longer sit on the fence with the Independent party. Then again maybe not, who says you have to pick sides!

If you are as confused as I am about the terms left, right, conservative vs. liberal etc. I recommend this book. I'm not very far into it yet, but now is the time to read it so I'm going on a limb and suggesting it before finishing. The author doesn't talk down to you and is very explanatory on everything you need to know.

While we're on the topic of politics...With the impending election Bliss has released presidential lotions, and is allowing the buyer to "cast your ballot" for your favorite candidate.  Will it be Mint Romney or O'bama?

You don't really have to answer that, I don't want this to turn into a heated debate, just throwing it out there. Maybe a fun thing to bring up over drinks and lighten the political conversations your Dad wants to have with you?
