"Anna Emmerson is a 30-year-old teacher who will be spending her summer
break in the Maldives tutoring 16-year-old T.J. Callahan while he’s
vacationing with his family. T.J. has been battling cancer (he’s in
remission now) and has missed a lot of school; Anna’s job is to catch
him up so he can go back to school with his classmates in the fall.
When their charter plane goes down in the Indian Ocean, Anna and T.J.
know they just have to survive until the rescue planes come. As they
wait…and wait…and wait…they eventually realize help is not coming, and
they’ve got to rely on their wits (and luck) to survive tropical storms,
shark infested water, illness, and lack of basic supplies." (Synopsis from Parajunkee)
Okay so I'm not exactly reading this now, I finished it last night. I have to say it was awesome, and definitely an easy read. I finished it in 2 days, this hasn't happened since the first Harry Potter back in 1997!
This was the author's first book and you would never be able to tell. It has a definite romance story that doesn't begin until 100 pages in and 2 years into the story (so no underaged/illegal relationships). If you are a fan of any of the reality TV shows about how to survive in the wild this book will catch your interest.
I don't want to go into too much detail as it would give everything away, but read it! It would be a perfect summer read to either take to the beach with you, or to sit in your hammock and dream of the beach.
Now on to Fifty Shades of Grey, finally breaking down and going to see what everyone is raving so much about.
