Eating Out: Around Saint Augustine, Florida

My Mom and Step-Dad are in town for a few days from Maryland. It is so great to see them, and I can't wait for them to be moved down here within the next few months. Over the weekend we went to a few of their favorite restaurants here in Saint Augustine and checked out a new one too.
The above picture is from Aunt Kate's, this was before they even checked into their hotel and I sadly didn't get a single shot of our food. But as usual, it was delicious and the view of the Intercoastal in Vilano Beach was an excellent backdrop for their "homecoming."
Saturday we went to South Beach Grill in Crescent Beach, for the dessert mainly. ;) Here's the Chocolate Peanut Butter Tower I mentioned last week.
Dee and Bob split their favorite, the Banana Zango. It's a banana cheesecake mixture in a fried pastry batter. Yum!

Today, to celebrate Bob and Dee's belated Birthdays we went to Coquina Beach Surf Club Restaurant in Saint Augustine Beach for lunch. I had been here once before, but it was everyone else's first time.
Mom got their tuna, it came with a soy mustard sauce and some seaweed salad.
Bob ordered their Fish Bits, which were fried bits of Mahi Mahi, with a side of spicy datil pepper cole slaw and a remolaude sauce for dipping.
The pulled pork sandwich with slaw was Dee's choice. The only thing he didn't like about it was that it didn't come with a sauce, and they didn't have any BBQ sauce. But it really didn't need much, the waitress brought him out some Datil Pepper hot sauce and ranch for a toned down concoction he ended up enjoying quite fully.

I had Fried Shrimp, nothing too exciting but these were delicious. Not too much batter, and not that crunchy fried you get sometimes that almost hurts your gums. I would definitely order them again next time.
It was a great weekend and a nice visit, best part is they will be back in two or three weeks because they are bringing another load down to move. These restaurants were all great and I would recommend them to any tourist or local here in town.

Do you find yourself going out to eat more when you have relatives in town?
