Happy Monday, I hope you had an enjoyable weekend. Mine was somewhat eventful/productive, I took our Christmas tree down (sad empty spot where it used to be), cleared off my desk of the X-Mas project clutter, made my 2012 inspirational board (thank you IFB) and pulled out my sewing machine. I "played" with it for about 2 hours, and have fully mastered threading the needle and winding a bobbin. From there I attempted to sew a straight line, that did not go as well and I will be pulling out the stitches for the 4th time in a few minutes.
I just jumped on amazon looking for a how-to guide and found this book, Stitch by Stitch: Learning to Sew One Project at a Time. It had a lot of great reviews, and is a spiral bound book so I can lay it flat while I work. I love the idea of working through it like a workbook, and having the sewing projects get harder in skill level as I progress through the book.
I am so excited for this to come in and get started on sewing for real. Until then I will try to perfect a straight line, and maybe attempt to sew on a button.
Do any of you sew? Any tips for a beginner?
